In the land of the data-blinded, SEARCH is King. And in this Search Kingdom…Google.com has been the undisputed Emperor!

When Larry Page and Sergey Brin came across each other 10 years ago, neither could have imagined the enormity of that meeting. Today Page and Brin’s brainchild, http://www.google.com/ sees an astounding number of queries keyed in on its no-frills homepage every day. Google has become so popular today that its probably the most common verb in almost any language.
The staggering expansion of the internet in terms of data and utility has been the ultimate driving force for Google. With seemingly infinite information online…Google cashed upon the oppourtunity by retreiving this information for its users and bringing it as close to them as a click of a mouse.
Known for the simplicity of its index page and noted for its speed and accuracy, what goes behind the quiet looking google.com mainpage is too much to handle in one go!
Without doubt, Google is the most useful website on the Internet. This is scary, considering that Google is a company and that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So, a lot many organistaions are looking for an alternative prefering some kind of open source search engine solution.
But the truth is, we don’t have such a solution yet and as long as we don’t, we might as well have some fun with Google…
